Today I want to introduce Automobile Electronics Consortium. When I worked in TEEMA (Taiwan Electrical and Electronics Manufacturers’ Association), one of my major job is to set up and operate this consortium. So the consortium has special meanings for me.
An introduction on TEEMA’s Automobile Electronics Consortium
Automobile Electronics is currently one of the most promising hi-tech industries in Taiwan. It has become the 4C industry in Taiwan and is considered to be the next star industry that would most likely generate big value. Besides, Taiwan has powerfully equipped electronics sector which is supported with comprehensive supply chain, and the automobile electronics is an emerging industry with favorable profitability and steady growth. If Taiwan electronic industry involves in automobile electronic industry would create another phenomenon in the Taiwan electronics industry.
In order to assist the upgrading of the aforesaid industry, TEEMA has set up the Automobile Electronics Consortium on January 4, 2006. Members of the consortium come from various sectors that include IT, Telecom, Automobile Electronics, Auto Parts and Semi-conductor industries. Government organizations, academics, R&D and Testing organizations are also invited to join it. When vertical and horizontal industries would be consolidated and shared critical technological progress would be promoted. The resources from various sectors could be converged to establish industrial discipline and to reinforce international venture capitals and marketing. On the other hand, the consortium can offer practical recommend for the numbers and government organizations.
The Consortium is honored to invite Dr. Ivan T.C. Wu, Vice President and General Director of Mechanical and Systems Research Laboratories, Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) to chair the alliance. Two Special Interest Groups (SIG) - Key Components and Innovation Service Providers are also established. Mr. Chun-Chong Lee, General Manager of the Sin Etke Technology, is the convener of the Innovation Service Provider SIG and General Manager Mr. Joe Lung-Chou Huang is the corporate convener of the Automobile Research and Testing Center. Mr. C.Y. Wei, President of Universal Scientific Industrial Co. Ltd. is the industrial convener of the Key Components SIG. Mr. James Wang, Section Chief of Mechanical and Systems Research Laboratories, ITRI, is the corporate convener.
The objective in setting up the alliance is to create an industrial dialogue platform and to integrate the value chains of the automobile and electronic industries. It is anticipated that the upper, mid and down stream supply chains would be built up by merging all resources from the industry, the government, the academics and the R&D. So that Taiwan automobile electronics industry could generate its value in the international market.

Practice makes perfect. 熟能生巧
The things that you are not familiar with will be made perfect if you try to practice and exercise enough.
I think it is a good way for everyone to try new things that he/she never touches or learns before. But there is a premise that he/she has to practice diligently.
Advice when most needed is least heeded. 忠言逆耳
Some advices will not be noticed, especially when you are in a good situation. Someone who flatters you and never tells you the truth or advices is not the good friend. I think the good friends will give you some suggestions whether you are in the good situation or not. Maybe the suggestions or advices will harsh to your ear, but they are sincere. We have to accept them and think what we have to do.
The wealth of the mind is the only true wealth. 心靈的財富才是唯一真正的財富
How rich you are does not depend on your wealth of matter is mind. If your mind is ugly or poor, you will not have happy or healthy. Only own a healthy and kind mind, you will have a rich and colorful life.
In the current society, most people think money is everything and earn matter wealth to content their vanity. They do not understand the true wealth is mind not money. Money cannot buy friendship, love, respect, and so on. If your mind is poor, you will feel empty even you are a rich man.
自反而縮，雖千萬人，吾往已
This phrase that was said by Mencius is my motto. It tells us if everybody does not agree with our decision, we have to think deeply. After some serious thinking, if we make sure that our decision is right, we just do what we have to do and do not concern what others say. I think it is very important for everybody. People have to know what they want, what they need, and decide how to finish the matters after serous thinking. If we have the ability that how to analyze different things, we can make everything easy and gain what we want. Because we have to be responsible for our life, we must have our own life and decide how to manage our life.
精誠所至 金石為開
This phrase means that if we are sincerely, the stone that is as solid as golden stone will be affected. Patience is very important for us to do everything, especially difficult one. When we face the difficult or critical position, we must be patiently. It will be helpful for us to overcome the hurdle.
己所不欲 勿施於人
This phrase was said by Confucius. It tells us when we do anything; we need to realize other people’s feelings. What we do not like others treat us, we do it to others. It is a respectful behavior. If everyone does this, our world will be peaceful and filled with love.
