An introduction on TEEMA’s Automobile Electronics Consortium

Today I want to introduce Automobile Electronics Consortium. When I worked in TEEMA (Taiwan Electrical and Electronics Manufacturers’ Association), one of my major job is to set up and operate this consortium. So the consortium has special meanings for me.

An introduction on TEEMA’s Automobile Electronics Consortium

Automobile Electronics is currently one of the most promising hi-tech industries in Taiwan. It has become the 4C industry in Taiwan and is considered to be the next star industry that would most likely generate big value. Besides, Taiwan has powerfully equipped electronics sector which is supported with comprehensive supply chain, and the automobile electronics is an emerging industry with favorable profitability and steady growth. If Taiwan electronic industry involves in automobile electronic industry would create another phenomenon in the Taiwan electronics industry.

In order to assist the upgrading of the aforesaid industry, TEEMA has set up the Automobile Electronics Consortium on January 4, 2006. Members of the consortium come from various sectors that include IT, Telecom, Automobile Electronics, Auto Parts and Semi-conductor industries. Government organizations, academics, R&D and Testing organizations are also invited to join it. When vertical and horizontal industries would be consolidated and shared critical technological progress would be promoted. The resources from various sectors could be converged to establish industrial discipline and to reinforce international venture capitals and marketing. On the other hand, the consortium can offer practical recommend for the numbers and government organizations.

The Consortium is honored to invite Dr. Ivan T.C. Wu, Vice President and General Director of Mechanical and Systems Research Laboratories, Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) to chair the alliance. Two Special Interest Groups (SIG) - Key Components and Innovation Service Providers are also established. Mr. Chun-Chong Lee, General Manager of the Sin Etke Technology, is the convener of the Innovation Service Provider SIG and General Manager Mr. Joe Lung-Chou Huang is the corporate convener of the Automobile Research and Testing Center. Mr. C.Y. Wei, President of Universal Scientific Industrial Co. Ltd. is the industrial convener of the Key Components SIG. Mr. James Wang, Section Chief of Mechanical and Systems Research Laboratories, ITRI, is the corporate convener.

The objective in setting up the alliance is to create an industrial dialogue platform and to integrate the value chains of the automobile and electronic industries. It is anticipated that the upper, mid and down stream supply chains would be built up by merging all resources from the industry, the government, the academics and the R&D. So that Taiwan automobile electronics industry could generate its value in the international market.

Metaphor

Practice makes perfect. 熟能生巧
The things that you are not familiar with will be made perfect if you try to practice and exercise enough.
I think it is a good way for everyone to try new things that he/she never touches or learns before. But there is a premise that he/she has to practice diligently.

Advice when most needed is least heeded. 忠言逆耳
Some advices will not be noticed, especially when you are in a good situation. Someone who flatters you and never tells you the truth or advices is not the good friend. I think the good friends will give you some suggestions whether you are in the good situation or not. Maybe the suggestions or advices will harsh to your ear, but they are sincere. We have to accept them and think what we have to do.

The wealth of the mind is the only true wealth. 心靈的財富才是唯一真正的財富
How rich you are does not depend on your wealth of matter is mind. If your mind is ugly or poor, you will not have happy or healthy. Only own a healthy and kind mind, you will have a rich and colorful life.
In the current society, most people think money is everything and earn matter wealth to content their vanity. They do not understand the true wealth is mind not money. Money cannot buy friendship, love, respect, and so on. If your mind is poor, you will feel empty even you are a rich man.

自反而縮，雖千萬人，吾往已
This phrase that was said by Mencius is my motto. It tells us if everybody does not agree with our decision, we have to think deeply. After some serious thinking, if we make sure that our decision is right, we just do what we have to do and do not concern what others say. I think it is very important for everybody. People have to know what they want, what they need, and decide how to finish the matters after serous thinking. If we have the ability that how to analyze different things, we can make everything easy and gain what we want. Because we have to be responsible for our life, we must have our own life and decide how to manage our life.

精誠所至 金石為開
This phrase means that if we are sincerely, the stone that is as solid as golden stone will be affected. Patience is very important for us to do everything, especially difficult one. When we face the difficult or critical position, we must be patiently. It will be helpful for us to overcome the hurdle.

己所不欲 勿施於人
This phrase was said by Confucius. It tells us when we do anything; we need to realize other people’s feelings. What we do not like others treat us, we do it to others. It is a respectful behavior. If everyone does this, our world will be peaceful and filled with love.

My New Job

I have worked for my new job about one and half month. As I said before, my old job is boring. On the contrary, my new job is very busy. Sometime, I even have no time to take a break, and I always have to be overtime. Although it is very hard, I can learn a lot of experience that I never touch from working. I think it will be better when I am used to the work.

Dongyin-a Mystical Fairyland

Today I want to introduce a mystical island, Dongyin, that is located the most northern territory of Taiwan. It's location in relation to Taiwan is shown in figre 1. It also shows how far Dongyin is from Taiwan. Somebody will be curious why I want to introduce this remote and unknown place. The reason is simple: I had been one and half year's military service there. I severed in the Dongyin Hospital(figure2) as a financial manager from 2000 to 2002.

Dongyin is a small island that only has a total area of around 4.71 square kilometers. The composition of population is very interesting here. There are about 8 hundred residents who live here; and the number of residents becomes fewer and fewer because the young do not want to live, study and work here but chose to work in the other places. However, the number of military men is about 1.2 thousand, that is more than the number of residents. Therefore, military men become the major source of resident’s income. In older to overcome the shortage of manpower, they hire employees who come from Taiwan or China. It is a conflicting and interesting phenomenon.

Dongyin is famous for this rich ocean resource because its reef coast attracts fish to gather. For this reason, I always saw people come here to fish when I severed here. But you need to take care of a lot of things if you want to come here to fish. See figure 1 again. First of all, you spend 8 to 12 hours to take ship to Dongyin or take 1 hour by airplane and 6 hours by ship to Dongyin. Nevertheless, the ships do not operate everyday and you need to identify the operation schedual. Furthermore, you must be very careful when you fish on the rock because the coast is very cliffy. Finally, you need to wear more. The weather in Dongyin is windy and cold. Therefore, as I know about the medical resource of this small island is poor enough. If you catch a cold, you only can get some acetaminophen and a certificate for taking a one-day-rest.

Somebody will wonder why this small island needs so many military men. It is because it’s special strategic value. See figure 1, we will find Dongyin does not like other islands that are close to China. Hence, the traditional weapons can not attack here. If you are a military fan, you will be very excited to be here. You can see some military facilities and amazing tunnels.

Dongyin is a special island that owns some natural and cultural scenes. It retains some original style and features that will be worth it for you to go sightseeing. Remember to do enough homework before visiting here to avoid displeasure.

Describe Myself

I think it is uneasy to describe myself because I do not very concern about my appearance. I will try to do it. First of all, I have the medium height and plump body with short black hair. I look just like a common person whom nobody will take notice of. But I have a friendly face with deep outline. I have a double-fold eyelid, sharp nose, full lips, and rough skin. Furthermore, I always put on casual clothes because I do not want my life to be too serious. It is a simple description of myself.

Writing a essay- My Travel Partner

My travel partner

I like to travel very much, especially to visit nature by car. For this reason, I decided to buy a car last month. However, there were some issues I needed to think for a new car. First issue is an economic consideration because I do not have enough budgets to buy a perfect car. Moreover, the price of oil gets more and more expensive, so that I have to choose a small car that consumes less oil than the common cars. Second issue is maintained consideration. I need a car that should be reliable, and it would not cost lots of money for maintaining or repairing. The final concern is the appearance. My ideal car must look good. After some serious thinking, I decided to buy Nissan March as my travel partner.

There are several reasons why I choose to buy March. First, March is a 1,300 c.c. small car that owns beautiful price, cheap tax, and low oil using features. When I go for traveling, I usually just go with my girl friend. So I do not need a big car but a suitable one. Owing to the fact that is a small car; I would not pay expensive tax every year. Besides, when the car that is drove by two persons, it is lower oil costing than other big cars. So, my car is an economic car that can help me to reduce some costs, and I can use the save money for other uses.

Furthermore, it is a popular car, so the regular maintaining and repairing charge is cheaper than other cars, especially imported ones are at the same level as my car. It is because March is made in Taiwan, and the assembly for the car is inexpensive. It is important for me because I have no idea about the mechanism of cars. If my car breaks down, it is easy and cheap to have it repaired in the garage. Moreover, March is a reliable car and it is easy to take care of it. Now I can travel frequently by my new vehicle and enrich my leisure life. For this reason, it is very appropriate for me.

Finally, March is a beautiful car with nice appearance and sharp. March comes in two types: that are four-door and five-door. My car is five-door that does not have a glove compartment, and it is cuter than the four-door ones. My car has a pretty red color and comfortable leather chairs that my girlfriend likes very much.

My car, red bean, is my good travel partner that contains a lot of features that I like and need. Although is it not an excellent one for traveling, I believe it is enough for me. Recently, I start to plan a three-day tour for east coast. I believe red bean will be a helpful partner in this trip.

2007.10.22--Group activity

Teacher told us that we have to be divided into some groups to perform an activity that discuss interesting job last week. we perform the activity today, and I think the content is funny. So I show evwryone the content of our group activity.


Gabby:Good evening! Everybody! I am Gabby

Betty: I am Betty, we are the hosts in today's show!

Gabby: Today we are very pleasure to invite three guests who all have interesting jobs! This is Eli, a zookeeper. This is Maggie who makes up for dead person. And this is Chris, she is a part-time queen.

Betty: Ok! Let's welcome Eli to introduce his job and interesting or special experience

Eli: Good evening! Everybody! I am Eli, a zookeeper. My major work is to take care and feed the animals in the zoo. Somebody will think the job is boring, but I think the job is interesting. Most animals in our zoo are cute and friendly. When you take care or feed them, you can play with them and they trust you to touch them. It is a very special experience, and they are just like your children. I like the job.


Gabby: Could you tell us something interesting in your job?

Eli: Yeah. I remember, about 3 years ago, that there was a lion named Jimmy was borned in the zoo, but he is in a critical situation because his mother didn't want to feed him. But Jimmy was lucky, my dog named Lucky just borned puppies at the same time. I take Lucky to be Jimmy's mother. It is a unforgettable memory for me. Jimmy is just like a cat and play with other puppies. It is a very interesting experience in my job. But the wonderful hour is just when he is a boy. When he grew up, everyone afraid of he that includes I and my dog.

Betty: And is anything that make you impressive?

Eli: Yeah!! But it is not funny. It is a little terrible. Everyone want to hear?



Everyone: Yes!!!!



Eli: one day, my coworker went to feed his animal. But his arm was bit by a locoste!


Everyone :It is too disgusting !terrible! My goodness!

Maggie: I don't think it is horrible or special. You know, my job is to make up for dead person. Sometimes, I need to help to piece up the body. Someone's body maybe divided into several parts by accident or something else, in the meantime, I need to find the best way to piece up their body, and make sure they will be nice in last journey.

Gabby: Don't you afraid of ghost? Or do you have any unbelievable experience to share us?

Maggie: Oh! I remembered some dead person talked to me in my dream! She told me what she wants! Like Tiffany necklace, heart of fire diamond, etc! Wow, how a rich woman! I even deal with a special case, I remembered that night. I received a case that a young that died by fell from 3000 foot! When his body came here, I helped him to make up in the midnight.

Chris: I know! He was my student, I taught him how to fly by hang-glider , but he is too excited and didn’t care what I said. Of Course I have the license, but he didn't operate step by the step, so….

Betty:How many licnese do you have?, can you introduce them?

Chris: I have diving, dancing, hang-glider, accounting, cooking, and boxing licenses.

Gabby: what kind of job do you like most?

Chris: I like dancing because it is very interesting.
